Honeymoon

Author's Note: The ponies are anthropomorphic characters.  To honor the marriage of Armor and Cadance, I will attempt to write a one shot on their honeymoon.  No lemon (clopfic) here.

Two newlyweds finally tied the knot and went off on their honeymoon.  Princess Mi Amore Cadenza "Cadance" and her new husband Shining Armor made arrived a beautiful seaside resort in Canterlot.  After what they have been through it was time to relax.  Cadance couldn't believe how lucky she was to finally marry the man of her dreams.  Armor too couldn't believe it either.  Many years ago he saw a beautiful mare who looked after his little sister Twilight.  And now their honeymoon begins.

After checking in with the pony behind the counter of the resort's inn, the newlyweds made it to their room.  "Well Cadance, do you love it?"  The room featured a fancy bed fit for two with a lovely pink comforter, a new wooden desk to place the luggage, and best of all, a lovely view of the beach outside.  (Think of a fancy hotel room.)  Luna made the moon full tonight.

"Oh it's very luxurious Armor," Cadance replied.  The couple set their luggage while Cadence checked the bed.  "Hmmm, it's very comfortable."  

Armor just smiled, "So we have a whole week ahead of us.  What do you want to start with?  A lovely dinner?  A swim?  A romantic walk on the beach?  You name it."

"How about we just talk for a bit?" Cadance suggested.  Armor usually thought that honeymoons were meant to have fun but he accepted.  "Okay Cadance what do you want to talk about?"

"Do you really think that Queen Chrysalis would come back?"  Cadance remembered the terrible day she dealt with thanks to a certain shape-shifter.  

"Cadance, you must not worry about her.  I know that deep inside she just wanted love but no pony gave it to her.  Maybe one day she will find love."  Cadance wiped a tear.  

"Our love is strong..." she whispered.  "Hey Armor, I've heard that in Ponyville some marriages aren't very happy.  Sometimes the wife would leave her husband.  I hope that never happens to us."

Armor gave a kiss to his bride assuring her that he will remain faithful.  "Cadance I would never be unfaithful to you.  We're like best friends.  But now we're husband and wife."

Cadance smiled and blushed.  "It's real nice to have some alone time, isn't it?  No ponies following us around.  Just you and me."  But then her smile faded.  "Don't you think your sister is a bit overprotective?"

Armor thought and then commented, "Well Twilight might have overrated a little bit when I was unaware of what Chrysalis was doing.  But I trust her.  I would never say she's overprotective otherwise we would have never been married at all."

"I'm just worried," Cadance admitted.  "I trust Twilight too.  I even think of her as the little sister I've wanted.  But, I'm worried that she might not trust me."  She started sobbing.

A knock was heard.  "Hello, anypony in there?  It's Twilight Sparkle."

Armor let his sister in.  The purple unicorn wondered why her former foal sitter was crying.  Armor explained to her about their conversation.  "Cadance," Twilight said and went to give her a hug.  "I do trust you.  Ever since I was a filly I trusted you."

Memories of the past flew into Cadance's mind.  Those sweet memories of taking care of Twilight, how they played together, and help each other.  The princess cried tears of joy.  "Thank you Twilight."

"You're welcome Princess.  Now I better leave you two alone.  It's hard enough to get here without a reservation."  Some angry voices echoed in the hallway.  Twilight teleported away.

Armor then asked, "So what do you want to do now, Cadance?"  His new wife yawned.

"I'm tired, Armor," she replied.  He looked outside.  "Wow it's really late," thought Armor.  He felt tired as well and yawned.  "We'll start our honeymoon tomorrow morning over breakfast.  I've heard this place cooks the best meals."

"That sounds nice mi amore," Cadance said lustfully and gave Armor a long kiss before tucking in for the night.  

Even though these characters aren't real, the issue with marriage isn't.  Marriage is about forming a relationship with a close friend, a friend that you love dearly.  There are times when the newlyweds face challenges that may break a marriage.  But if they work together and remain faithful, their marriage will last.
